About Charmaine

Charmaine Jennings is a second year Creative Communications student, enrolled in the joint-degree program between The University of Winnipeg and Red River College. Currently studying at Red River, Jennings has been asked to start blogging, tweeting, and to join the professional world on LinkedIn. Hesitant at first to attach herself to so many networking sites, she is quickly seeing the benefits and the necessities of each outlet as she continues her journey through the program. By taking advantage of such social media, Jennings is able to connect with other students of CreComm, her instructors, and potential employers in communications.

Setting up a blog is an entirely new experience for Jennings, but choosing her topic of exploring different areas of communication gives her the opportunity to learn about the different fields it encompasses.

Former active member of Alpha Phi (female) Fraternity, Jennings held positions such as Vice-President of Marketing, and Public Relations Coordinator for the Greek system. These positions required her to use the Facebook media outlet to keep in touch with members of her organizations, as well as the public who she was to extend invitations and information. 

Jennings is currently a freelance communicator, working towards a degree in Public relations. She hopes to gain experience through a career in PR consultation, leading towards opening her own PR firm.
